Gas Prices in Cedar City!

I took a "drive-by" picture yesterday. It's certainly something to smile about!

The Yard is Almost Done!

After many hours of work, the grass is in. We worked all day one Saturday and then a few nights the next week. Dwight has been extremely motivated to finish almost everything before the first big snow. The sprinklers were put in, then we leveled and pack the dirt and then the grass was put down. After the grass was done and some plants planted, the last thing that needed to be done was to put up the basketball goal. Dwight and Joseph got the cement and the in-ground post in on the 6th. The weather turned very cold that night so they rigged up a lamp, chair, blanket and tarp into a warm little room for the cement to cure properly. Then on the 13th Dwight, Alyssa, Joseph and I got the backboard up, but not without a little drama. Alyssa and Dwight were on either side on ladders. I was in the middle on the ground and Joseph was on a ladder in the back ready to put the bolts in. A big gust of wind came and almost knocked Alyssa and the backboard off the ladder. I like to think I saved her life with my fantastic balancing act under the backboard. We finally got the backboard connected to the post. Since Joseph had helped the most he was going to get the first shot! Dwight and I were putting up the rim...he just had to tighten it down...so with his little wrench in hand he tightened the last nut and...POP...the backboard shattered. It was so sad. Dwight looked liked a little kid that had worked all week saving pennies for an ice cream cone and then dropped it in the mud. We're in the process of sending pictures to the company so we can get a replacement. By the way, the big snow that we were trying to beat fell that night. We got several inches. I've suggested to Dwight that we wait until the snow melts before putting up the new backboard....and it would probably be a good idea to wait until a day when the wind isn't blowing, which could be a long time in Cedar City.
